What Treatment Involves

On your first visit your practitioner will take a detailed case history which will include questions about why you are visiting, your medical history, past and present, medication and other relevant details.

If you are visiting the Osteopath your blood pressure may be taken if relevant and you may be asked to remove some clothing, again if relevant. This is of course your choice.

Your practitioner will then examine you and explain a treatment approach. Treatment will usually follow unless it is inappropriate. Examination and treatment requires contact.

In every case your practitioner will advise and explain the course of action required and will endeavour to answer your questions.

Especially in the case of osteopathic treatment, you may feel a little sore and stiff for a few days after treatment. This is quite normal, as if you have carried out an activity that you haven’t done for a while.

Please do contact your practitioner if you have any other reactions or if you have any further questions regarding your treatment. We will always be happy to talk to you, about any questions or concerns you may have.
